Taylor Swift landed in the USA yesterday after spending a few weeks overseas as she finished the Asian leg of her Speak Now tour.

The country music star touched down at LAX airport wearing her lucky number 13 on her right hand. Swift says:

‘I paint this on my hand before every show because 13 is my lucky number – for a lot of reasons. It’s really weird,’ she said.

Taylor explains: ‘I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album when gold in 13 weeks. My first #1 song had a 13-second intro.

‘Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter.’

The 21 year-old heads to Brussels in March for her European leg of the tour and then is back in the States in May to tour through the summer.

Taylor Swift got a very public Valentine from Owl City musician Adam Young.

Young says he just recently decoded the hidden message Swift put in the liner notes of her Speak Now album and discovered the secret word in the lyrics of “Enchanted” is ADAM.

Swift has said about that song:

“It was about this guy that I met in New York City, and I had talked to him on email before, but I had never met him,” Swift told the magazine in November 2010. “Meeting him, it was just this overwhelming feeling of, ‘I really hope that you’re not in love with somebody.’ And the whole entire way home, I just remember … sitting there thinking, am I ever gonna talk to this person again? It was that feeling of pining away for a romance that may never even happen.”

Young has composed his own words to her song “Speak Now” and tells her how awesome he thinks she is and how impressed he is.

On the band’s blog he writes:

“Everything about you is lovely. You’re an immensely charming girl with a beautiful heart and more grace and elegance than I know how to describe. You are a true princess from a dreamy fairy tale, and above all, I just want you to know … I was enchanted to meet you too.”

Swift, who is in Asia on tour hasn’t commented on her Valentine song. What do you think?

Wintry scenes with snowmen and trees sprinkled with sparkling white snow are just some of the idealized holiday images Taylor Swift has conjured up for her Christmas cards. The “Speak Now” singer has a very successful line with American Greetings and these new card feature “joyous winter scenes, delicious holiday cookies and, of course, snow-covered Christmas trees,” according to a press release, as well as Taylor’s signature “heart hands” image.

Taylor Swift gave a heartfelt performance of her apology song “Back to December” last night, November 10th, at the 44th Annual Country Music Awards. Held in Nashville, Tennessee the CMA audience saw Taylor at a grand piano accompanied only by a string section – no big guitars or huge chorus being belted out – this rendition was stripped down and restrained but still lovely. The tune is rumored to be a mea culpa to Swift’s former boyfriend, Taylor Lautner, neither of whom have confirmed or denied the story.

The stage had fog, a wrought iron fence and old-fashioned Victorian lamp posts as Swift was set in the middle on her piano. For the finale of the song, Swift had snow softly falling from the stage sky. The somber effect was ruined a bit at the end as you see the cameras sweep around the auditorium and back to Swift, who is mouthing “What?” at the curtains come down. Her rep tells EW that the singer was surprised by the standing ovation. Hmm, that doesn’t quiet seem to fit the face she made.

Jesse McCartney is gearing up to release his fourth studio album and gave fans the first single “Shake” to get you ready. Now McCartney, who is a very accomplished songwriter (he co-wrote “Bleeding Love” recorded by Leona Lewis and won 2008 ASCAP Pop Music Song of the Year for it,) will turn his writing talents on for Justin Bieber. Jesse told M:

“Justin’s a really nice guy. I’m actually writing a few songs for his next CD.”

When we asked Jesse if he had any advice for J-Biebs (after all, Jesse knows all about being an idol to millions of teen girls from his Dream Street and Summerland days), he told us this:

“You know, to really appreciate it, to live in the moment and work hard, and you can have a career for years to come.”

McCartney and Bieber are a match made in pop music heaven. Those songs will be played over and over.

The 2010 Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony honored Taylor Swift earlier this week (June 17th) with the Hal David Starlight Award. The 20 year-old received the accolades for being a gifted songwriter who makes an impact on the music industry with their original songs.

Lily Collins was also at the NYC bash as well. The actress has the enviable job of spending weeks with Taylor Lautner later this summer as the duo film Abduction.

Taylor Swift is giving her acting career a bit of a vacation as she goes back to her “number one love,” making music. Swift caught up with MTV and said that while she had fun doing Valentine’s Day and CSI, she’s been writing for two years and it’s back to what she truly loves: writing lyrics, harmonies, melodies and singing.

The Las Vegas heat was no match for Taylor Swift as she sauntered down the awards show carpet in a magnificent soft lilac Marchesa embroidered gown for the 2010 ACM Awards. The country superstar was nominated five times at tonight’s (Sunday April 18th) ceremony.

Taylor Swift gets the Annie Leibovitz photo treatment for Vogue magazine’s upcoming May issue. The singer lets us in on her love of sparkly dresses, how she writes her music and how great the past two years have been:

Why she loves sparkly dresses: “I just love them. Especially onstage, because I think it’s kind of fun when the spotlight hits you and your dress, for a millisecond, blinds people.”

How she writes a song for her album: “I don’t think I could put on a new character for two years of my life if it wasn’t really what I was going through. I have these formulas for making music; they’re almost mathematical: Who are you today? What did you write about in your diary? What idea hit you at 4:00 A.M.?”

Now what?: “Looking back on what these past two years have been for me, it feels like this magical dream of, Really? We toured all over the world? We played an arena in London? This is happening? Readjusting my goals and dreams has been something I’ve had to do a lot lately.”
