Nina Dobrev was a knock out at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, August 7th at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA.

The Vampire Diaries star hit a fashion home run in a D & G blue gingham dress with squared neckline and flared skirt. She had her hair pulled back in a cute ponytail and looked great!

I have to say, I like this look so much better than what she’s worn at other awards shows recently.

Nina Dobrev stepped out on the red carpet in San Diego last weekend for the Cowboys & Aliens premiere.

Dobrev and some of her costars from The Vampire Diaries, were at Comic-Con promoting the show’s upcoming third season.

The 22 year-old  chose a black dress with lace inset panels from Zuhair Murad. Nina paired the dress with an orangey red set of platform heels.

The actress and her boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, were also spotted at the EW party later that evening where the two were reportedly “inseparable” and indulged in a little PDA.

“The Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev talked about her “husband”, Twilight star Kellan Lutz, in the new movie “The Killing Games” in a recent interview for MTV News (see video above). The 22 year-old actress praised Kellan’s work, claiming it was great to work with him.

The movie “The Killing Game”, also starring Samuel L. Jackson, is about illegal gladiator fights that are watched by thousands of people online. Kellan is deeply involved with this ring leaded by Samuel’s character. This sounds like a good movie… fun and not too brainy!

Nina promises fans will all be surprised and excited to see Kellan take on such a big important role. Yeah! We can’t wait. Nina seems to like Kellan a lot… is there something we need to know about?

I still think Nina is probably just trying to create another distraction… people say she has been secretly dating Ian Somerhalder, who plays the bad vampire boy in The CW’s show, for some time. Who knows? Shh…

“The Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev confessed she is not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day, especially when she does not have a boyfriend to share it with, in a new interview for MTV (see video below).

However, the 22 year-old actress ended up revealing she is a hopelessly romantic when she chose Aerosmith’s power ballad “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” as her favorite slow jam.

Nina was also asked about what would be the perfect Valentine’s Day for her characters, Elena and Catherine, in the CW’s hit show. For Elena, Nina says she should go on a date with Matt and eat a burger; and Stefan and Damon should offer Catherine a bunny (a living one for her to feed on…). Funny.

Nina Dobrev is tempting you to get closer. Is she Katherine or is she Elena… The new poster released for The Vampire Diaries‘ return has the tagline “If You Can’t Tell Them Apart, Come Closer.” Totally Katherine!

Dobrev has said playing the multiple parts (Katherine in the 1800s, Katherine in the 1400s and both Katherine and Elena in the present) are making her a little crazy.

“It’s not easy, and I think I’m slowly becoming a schizophrenic because of it,” Dobrev said during the CW’s Kick-Ass Women panel at the TCA Press Tour last week.

The Vampire Diaries will return this Thursday night with episode 12 “The Descent” at 8pm on The CW.

“The Vampire Diaries” actress Nina Dobrev confessed she was deeply hurt when a good friend broke her trust and betrayed her in a recent interview for Twist Magazine.

The 21 year-old could not reveal what exactly her friend did to her due to its painful and private nature, but says it was absolutely devastating. Nina felt lonely and insecure. She had to learn how to trust someone again.

“I think betrayal is the hardest friendship problem anyone can experience, and personally, it’s the hardest thing that I’ve ever gone through,” Nina tells TWIST. “A few years ago, a friend I loved and cared about betrayed me.”

“I dwelled on it for such a long time. I didn’t think I would ever be able to move on,” Nina says. “I realized my negative feelings forward her were putting me in a bad place. I think everything is forgivable because there’s no point in holding grudges and bad energy towards people.”

Nina learned how to forgive and forget, putting the situation behind her to be able to move on with her life. Now she surrounds herself with positivity and true friends, the ones who would never let her down.

I guess we all have been through something like that at some point in our lives. Nina gives a great testimony and sends a good message for everyone who has been hurt by someone they trusted and cared deeply.

“The Vampire Diaries” stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley vamped up for the red carpet of the 12th Annual Young Hollywood Awards held at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (May 13).

These two look so fantastic together! Too sexy! Nina went on stage to accept an award for “Making Their Mark” category. The Vampire Diaries also took home the award for “Cast To Watch”. We love the VD!

Actress Mia Kirshner, best known for her roles in “The L Word” and “24”, will play Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) mother Isobel, who abandoned her daughter while she was still a baby. Isobel, a woman fascinated by vampires who apparently was turned into one by Damon (Ian Somerhalder), wants to meet Elena at all costs but their relationship won’t be easy as the slogan – “Connected to her mother by blood, not love” – suggests.

The 21 year-old had such a fresh and cool look that the show creators adapted her own personal style for her character. Funny! I always thought Elena had a fabulous fashion sense…

On being a leather lover: “The creators [of Vampire Diaries] adapted my personal style for Elena. We both wear KRMA leather jackets all the time.”

On making her own jewelry: “I was in a diner when my fork bent out of shape. So, I wore it as a bracelet! Now I look for antique silverware to make into jewelry.”

On taking inspiration from the 19th Century: “I also love fashion from the 1800s. The hoop skirts, the silk and velvet…they were breathtaking. Literally! I’ve learned that when I’m wearing a corset, breathing is a luxury.”
